Astrochemistry

About Me

I am currently a Research Programmer with CARMA at the Astronomy Department of the University of Illinois. My duties are split between research and programming. My research interests lay in astrochemistry, where I study high mass and low mass star forming regions and comets. The main goal of this research is to understand the chemical processes that take place in these different environments and what the different molecules can tell us about the physical conditions where they exist. My programming duties have involved creating the CARMA Project Database which is used to track and store all relevant details of all observations conducted at the array and also to schedule the observations. The database interface is written in C++ with a python user interface.
